Documenting Hazzanim Who Perished in the Shoah

The Cantors Assembly, is the professional organization of Cantors, which serves the Jewish world. They request assistance from the public in completing an ongoing project to document the hazzanim of Europe whose bodies along with their prayers rose as smoke through the air during the Shoah. A database of victims was first published in the Journal of Synagogue Music, in the Fall of 2011, beginning on page 153.
